New Born Kittens!

If you've read my blog recently, you probably know about the pregnant rescue we've taken in. Well...

SHE GAVE BIRTH!!!

She's a tuxedo and still a kitten herself (only about 6 months). She's black with a white streak on her belly and white on all her feet. Anyway, when we brought her in, she was 4 to 6 weeks along. I confirmed she was 6 weeks along when her kittens started to palpitate in her stomach. It's very interesting to feel those little paws and bodies moving around.

She had her kittens Friday, 26 April 2013, at about 4:30 AM (I'm in the States, on the east coast). She had a litter of 5, all differently colored. We aren't sure who the tom was that got her pregnant. There are two brown mackerel tabbies, a gray and white kitten, a tuxedo kitten and another gray, possibly swirled tabby with bold stripes on the tail. They're so tiny! I've never seen newborns up close personally but they were adorable.

She lets us pet her and take pictures of the kittens but we haven't tried to touch them yet. My orange mackerel tabby, Ralphy, has no idea what is going on or why the cat, whom we call Sam, is in the closet with these little moving things! We've showered him in attention.

Here are some pictures of the kittens!

No one has a name yet. We don't know what gender any of them are either, so we'll have to wait until they open their eyes.
